This page is where you can place your orders. If you're logged in to your account *and* the market is open, you will see quantity box an "Add to Cart" icon next to each item. If you just want one, click on the icon to add it to your cart. If you want more, you can either change the quantity and then click, or click the number of times you want.
Once you've finished shopping, click the checkout link in your shopping cart (located at the upper left side of this page, below this help area).
To order: Go to the specific item and click the Shopping Cart icon to order one of the items. To order more than one, change the number in the box to the quantity you desire. Your order will accummulate in the Shopping Cart box. When ordering is completed, click on Proceed to Checkout. On the next page, check your order for accuracy, then click the Place This Order button. You will receive an immediate email confirmation.
Ordering is temporarily disabled while the growers/producers fill orders on Wednesday and Thursday.

Brazil Daterra Reserve is an elegant coffee, perfect for home espresso, drip or French Press. It's bold with notes of caramel, and a very smooth finish. This bean is a little more expensive than most of my others but certainly worth it. This is one of the first organic Daterra coffees. The estate provides wonderful working conditions for their employees, schools for their children, medical care and profit-sharing for long-term employees. When I visited there in 2004 I was amazed that the estate, a major player in the global specialty coffee arena, is very successfully managed by owner Luis Pascoal's daughter Isabella and her friend Andreza.

Decaf SumatraGrower: Princess Valiant Coffee

This water-processed decaf is smooth and mellow, and has no odd aftertaste that some decafs have. Because of its origin, it's low acid - and great to combine with regular Sumatra to get a half-caf. This is 100% Arabica.

Fundraiser Coffee - Tanzania Kahowa PeaberryGrower: Princess Valiant Coffee

This is a new fundraiser coffee with a wonderful local connection. First, the coffee - a mellow, smooth, low-acid bean that brews a gentler but flavorful cup. The cause - the Maasailand Health Project, founded in 2009 by Tom Curry of Port Angeles. Tom and Rhonda Curry went to Tanzania in March 2009 and visited Oldupai Boma. They were shocked by the impact of malaria on this village of nomadic Maasai people, and decided to do something about it. Tom launched the charity and a website www.tanzania-rf.com in November, and by Christmas had 100 medicated malaria nets and malaria testing kits on the ground in Oldupai Boma! Now, 100% of the sale price of this coffee goes to send additional nets to that village and others nearby. The image on the coffee is of Tom and a little girl named Moipoi that he met at Oldupai Boma. Check out the website for more information. In January 2010 I stepped forward to be on the board of the Maasailand Health Project to help advance this effort that is essential to the survival of these people.

Guatemalan Guaya'bGrower: Princess Valiant Coffee

This coffee for serious coffee drinkers comes from Guaya’b Asociacion Civil, a cooperative in western Guatemala where the farmers are of the ethnicity Maya-Popti. Guya'b is grown in the Cunca of Rio Azul (Blue River Valley) at an altitude of 3,250 to 5,250 feet under different layers and shade species which help reduce erosion and create a natural habitat for native and migratory bird species. This bean is bold, snappy, spicy and is great for a single-origin espresso.

Peru El Palto DecafGrower: Princess Valiant Coffee

I've had some really good organic decafs in the past, but this one is the best yet. It is practically undistinguishable from regular coffee. A relatively new CO2/ultra-pure water process leaves SO much more flavor in the bean. Upon grinding you'll get notes of dark chocolate with underlying floral notes. It's a smooth, full flavored brew and bolder than the Sumatra Decaf.

This is a wonderful organic Sumatra that has the earthiness and smoothness we love in this origin. Its low acidity makes it easy on the tummy - but very flavorgul. To preserve the character of this bean, it is roasted to Full City and no darker.
Something special about this coffee - I am now donating $2.00 of every pound sold at retail to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee for the care of Shirley, an elephant from Sumatra. Shirley is now 61 years old and needing very special attention in her later years - especially supplements that support her health and ability to move.
